Like so many, I have had an intense fear of the dentist for as long as I can remember…that is until I began going to Dr. Hughes’ office. The understanding, fun, friendly staff has actually made my dental visits enjoyable. When I enter the office, I am greeted by name. I am quickly checked in and I have never had to wait more than ten minutes for my appointment. Both Dr. Hughes and Jo, my hygienist, are very warm, extremely gentle and especially understanding of the fear that I had and have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I gladly share my great experience as a patient of Dr. Gregory Hughes and his wonderful staff. I needed periodontal work done and after the procedure was explained to me, I immediately became nervous, because I have never had any halfway decent experience in a dentist’s chair unless I was put to sleep. I explained my fears to the hygienist, and she really listened to me, gave me tissues for my tears, and assured me that I would be able to get through these procedures. I opted to receive the nitrous oxide, which calmed me down enough to get the needle given by Dr. Hughes. I even appreciated him saying before the injection “just a pinch” followed by his instructions to breathe normal and that I was doing fine, even though I felt like a huge basket case. Well, he was right and I did get through everything with flying colors. The staff even put on my favorite TV program which held my attention instead of focusing on the procedure. I recommend Dr. Hughes and his staff to everyone because they are wonderful caring people, and because they make how you feel a top priority. My testimonial for this great establishment owned and operated by Dr. Gregory Hughes is on the money when it comes to my teeth. I’ve been coming to Dr. Hughes for the past 15 or 16 years and I only have one complaint, sorry that our paths didn’t cross earlier in my career. He is a very kind, gentle and sweet spirited dentist and he’s always making sure that you’re comfortable before he starts, and while he’s working in your mouth. He has a very sweet spirit about him and he has a great staff and a modern and updated establishment. Over the years he’s always supported the community by donating money to purchase an Ad in the annual Jabberwock book sponsored by the Roanoke alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to help college students receive scholarships. He’s on great Dentist in the community where I live. I love you Dr. Hughes!

I would like to take this time to express my amazement at the service I was given on my first visit to Dr. Hughes Dental Group. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable on questions I had. The atmosphere was very low key. The décor in the office was pleasant and gave a great sense of comfort and relaxation. “It was like walking out of hell into heaven”. Love the TV's. Love the waiting room w/the computer, the drinks, that great service. Everyone is very friendly and make you feel like you're at home. I never have to wait when I come in, you guys are always ready for me. Love that! When my grandmother passed away, you guys sent me some flowers, and I thought that was so sweet & it meant alot to me. Thanks for all you guys do! Heather Dillard
